MAcc - Sprott School of Business

Sprott’s Master of Accounting (MAcc) is a program that provides a gateway to a career as a professional accountant. Students graduating from the MAcc will be exempt from the CPA Canada Professional Education Program (PEP) and will proceed directly to the CPA Canada Common Final Examination, which is one of the final steps in becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant.

The Sprott MAcc goes beyond the CPA professional requirements by providing students with all four competencies in the accounting field: assurance, tax, finance and performance management. This breadth of knowledge prepares graduates to work in a variety of professional roles.

The accounting faculty within the Sprott School of Business are experts on the competencies required by the accounting profession. In addition, MAcc candidates will have several of their cases graded by those who have professional marking experience.

The size of our program fosters close connections among Master of Accounting students. The MAcc Society enhances the student experience by facilitating social, networking and other non-academic events.
